Oversubscription
Where applications for admission exceed the number of places available, the following criteria will be applied, in the order set out below, to decide which children to admit:
1. Where the child has a Statement of Special Educational Needs which names Bishopstone School in the statement.
2. Where the child is in the care of a local authority or provided with accommodation by that authority as defined by Section 22 of the Children Act 1989.
3. Where the child is resident* in the designated catchment area for Bishopstone School.
4. Where the child has a natural or stepbrother or natural or stepsister attending the school at the time of admission or application
5. Other children
In the event of oversubscription, applicants who live outside the designated catchment area but who live closest to the school will be given priority.
*The child’s home address is the residence where he or she is ordinarily resident during the majority of term time weekdays.
